Page operations create a new document
Merging, splitting, or reordering pages does not edit the original file in place. The browser reads the selected bytes, creates a new PDF, and offers that output for download. Keep the source files when their metadata, signatures, or attachments matter.
Metadata and advanced features
- A rewritten PDF may not preserve every producer-specific metadata field.
- Digital signatures are invalidated when document bytes change.
- Encrypted or damaged PDFs may fail before a page operation can begin.
