Visual appearance is not enough
An accessible PDF needs more than visible text and aligned boxes. Document structure, headings, reading order, language, and meaningful text alternatives help assistive technology interpret the content.
Forms need usable labels
- Give each interactive field a clear name and associated label.
- Expose required status and useful error messages.
- Check keyboard order and focus visibility in the target viewer.
