What does this tool solve?
Choose two date-times to get the exact span between them: days, hours, minutes, seconds, total hours, and business days (Monday–Friday, holidays not counted).
What examples should you start with?
Five days
Input
2025-01-10 → 2025-01-15
Output
5 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes · 120 total hours
Across a weekend
Input
Friday 2025-01-10 → Monday 2025-01-13
Output
3 calendar days, 1 business day
How does it work?
Both inputs are parsed to instants and subtracted; the breakdown into days/hours/minutes/seconds uses exact millisecond arithmetic.
Business days count Monday–Friday calendar days between the two dates. Public holidays are not subtracted — there is no universal holiday calendar.
What are the edge cases and limits?
- Entering the later date first is fine — the pair is swapped and the result notes it.
- DST transitions make 'one day' occasionally 23 or 25 hours long in local time; this tool measures absolute elapsed time.
- Business-day counting ignores public holidays and regional work weeks.
